The Realist

Realisten is a student party that was founded in 1987. The party aims to improve students’ everyday lives by focusing on local causes and issues. We achieve this by not committing to ideological principles but being pragmatic and solutions-oriented.. 

What matters to us:

As students, we come from diverse backgrounds and have different learning prerequisites; we believe that teaching should be more inclusive and cater to a broader range of learners. To achieve this, we want to introduce more diverse teaching strategies that can profit more students. We understand that students may face financial difficulties, which is why we are working towards providing free digital curriculum. We also believe that the campus should reflect the digital age we live in, and therefore, we have been working towards providing more plugs on campus.

Strengthen the students’ associations and culture. The time at the university is not just about sitting at the library. This is when we challenge ourselves, get to know new people, and make new memories that we will bring for the rest of our lives. And important part of this is the students’ associations and culture. We want to work to strengthen the students’ associations and culture.

Better and more facilitation for a more inclusive and pleasant campus. During the time at the university, we spending a lot of time at campus. We wish to better facilitate for a more inclusive and pleasant campus. We will achieve this by instating gender-neutral bathrooms, having a more botanical diversity, and getting more colours on the walls.
