Top 3 issues

1. Stronger support for student culture and student volunteerism

Universitetslisten will work and continue to work to strengthen student volunteerism at the University of Oslo. As our university has the largest association environment in Norway, the University of Oslo and its students have a special responsibility to support and manage this association life. We will actively work for increased financial support and visibility for student associations and student volunteerism at the University.

2. Support for a free and critical academia

In a time of unrest and high cost, being a student is now challenging and difficult. Our rights that we have taken for granted such as respect for the international legal order, academic freedom, institutional autonomy and student democracy are under attack. We will stand in solidarity with students in Europe and the whole world who are fighting for these rights, but also students here in Norway. Being an international student here at the university should be able to enjoy the same benefits and rights on an equal footing as Norwegian students.

3. Better and more pleasant student life

We students are not defined by seminar rooms and lecture halls, but also by outdoor areas, bookstores and places to disconnect a little from the university at the university. Because how we view the concept of learning environment is something holistic, we will work for more green areas at the university that students can use, more benches and seating areas outside at the universities to help those with reduced mobility and those who want to sit and enjoy the sun.

Who we are

Universitetslisten is made up of students who are engaged in student volunteering and are concerned about a more enjoyable and pragmatic university. We will support and defend a free and critical academia at the University of Oslo that is driven by curiosity and institutional autonomy, but also fight for it internationally in solidarity with students at other universities around Europe and the world. Student volunteering is something that should be central to the tradition at Norwegian universities and something that should be relevant and accessible to all students regardless of background. Because it is through free exchange of ideas and opinions, to explore their interests that a student can gain knowledge, competence and develop their own life and the environment around them. Through the participation of students in our democratic processes, will we strengthen our voice and what is important to us together!
