1. Defend Academic Freedom and Freedom of Speech
Universities must always remain arenas where diverse perspectives meet and opinions are freely challenged. Moderate List defends everyone's right to ask critical questions and participate openly without fear of censorship or sanctions. We clearly reject cancel culture. Students and staff should always feel confident that academic freedom and freedom of speech are firmly protected at UiO.
2. Expand Internships and Strengthen Career Preparation
Education at UiO must better equip students for working life. Moderate List will significantly expand internship opportunities and establish stronger cooperation with businesses, organizations, and public institutions. More study programs should offer relevant practical experience, improved career counseling, and ensure students develop skills attractive to employers. This will create a smoother transition from studies into professional life.
3. End the SiO Monopoly – More Competition and Choice on Campus
The student welfare organization (SiO) currently holds a monopoly on several important services at UiO, leading to higher prices and limited choice. Moderate List aims to open campus to multiple service providers, ensuring students get access to more affordable, varied, and higher-quality services. Increased competition empowers students to choose solutions best suited to their needs.
Moderate List is the student party for all conservative, liberal, centre-right, and non-socialist students at the University of Oslo. We prioritize student freedom, welfare and individual opportunities. Our goal is to create a simpler, more flexible student life, emphasizing high-quality education and relevant academic content. We believe a good education is society’s most valuable investment, advocating increased internship opportunities, modern learning methods, and closer connections between studies and working life. By voting for Moderate List, you contribute to a university characterized by academic freedom, less bureaucracy, and greater freedom of choice. We strive to ensure every student succeeds academically, socially, and personally throughout their studies.
