1. Increase facilitation and flexibility in the everyday study life.
Students have different challenges and needs. Students need flexibility and better offers of facilitation. Everything from recordings of lectures to extended valid absence will give opportunities for students to engage more in other fora for example, associations.
The university must also become better in including people in different life situations and with different functional capacities.
2. Strengthen volunteering.
The student volunteering is still struggling with consequences after the pandemic. In face with the university, many student bars experience unnecessary paperwork and slow response. Make it easier for the student volunteering to take initiative and get permits to bigger and more including operations.
The welfare council must change the day’s model of grants to student associations. Get in place a startup pot for which new associations can apply for means from. Associations that succeed in creating activities should get extra grants.
3. Crush the SiO monopoly
The food and beverages offered on campus today are too expensive and limited. We therefore wish for the offer on campus to be exposed to competition. More actors would give better offers to student friendly prices.
The student housing in Oslo is way too expensive. SiO today seems to be operating according to pure marked principles. As an ideal actor, it needs clearer owners in the welfare council. Get the rent prices down!
What we want
The university in Oslo is full of students with different schedules, routines, styles of living and learning, wishes, and needs. The liberal list sees each one of you and knows that different people need different solutions. That is why we want to make sure that your needs are being taken care of, and we want to give you more power over your own everyday study life. The university is in an adjustment phase with cuts in its budgets and a challenging global situation. Thus, we must be clear regarding our academic principles and the values that matter to us. We also expect the university to prioritize better what they choose to spend money on so that we do not end up in a situation where student services are being cut. The liberal list wants to arrange for more student engagement. Yes, there should be higher student welfare and more freedom for each student.
