Library search engines in multiple norwegian languages
The Student Parliament at the University of Oslo passed on the 13. of November 2014 a declaration in support of the librarties making their search engine available in several norwegian languages.
- As the largest educational institution in Norway and an important societal actor the University has a linguistic responsibility to its students and society.
- To facilitate that students who already use Neo-Norwegian and Sami will be able to use their own language in academic life, is important for a University to reflect and secure linguistic diversity in Norway.
- Search services for the University Library should be made available in Neo-Norwegian and Northern Sami variants.
