The labour list

The Labour list (A-lista) is a student union at UiO with social democratic and the labour movement’s historical ideals as our platform of values. We fight for the student’s welfare, equal opportunities and equality in academia, and for a more eco-friendly UiO.

A university for everyone!

A university for everyone means that everyone will have the same possibilities, both during admission and during completion of their studies. We want to improve the counselor service for our students. In addition we want to reintroduce the accompanying letters informing the examination sensors of the students with writing- and reading difficulties. As of today, UiO is not an equal university. We want to increase the amount of permanent academic positions. In addition, we believe that gender quotas are necessary, both during the processes of hiring and in certain academic programs where the gender balance is very skewed.

Student life

As a student your time at UIO should be a time you enjoy. We in the Labour list want to improve your everyday life even better. Our goal is for you to be able to be a full-time student if you wish to be. Therefore, we believe that the stately student loan limit should be increased, and tied to 1,5 of the base support of the folketrygd. Engaging lectures and seminars are essential in creating a good student experience. The University needs to make sure their lecturers’ and other educators’ pedagogic competence is up to standard. They need to ensure that they vary their methods of teaching as well as their methods of assessment, to make sure the students participate actively. We want to positively impact your life as a student. That is why we wish to implement dinner at half the normal price during finals in all of SiO’s cafeterias. We will also work to make the university prioritize areas on campus that are tailored towards students and student activities.
